Camilla Diedrich
The wallpaper by award winning designer Camilla Diedrich is printed on unbleached and mostly recycled fibre from cardboard and knot. The pigments are not dependent on toxic heavy metals that were common in the past, for example, arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, chrome, lead and zinc have been removed. The manufacturing process is clean and the raw material mostly renewable. The production of the wallpaper makes sure that nothing goes to waste. Energy consumption during production is low and the final product releases no harmful substances. The linseed oil supported distemper consists of, as the name indicates, boiled cold-pressed linseed oil, water and cellulose starch (the glue). The print process with distemper is in the same manner as during the 1860s and is printed on a 100 year old surface print machine called 'The rose machine', to which is added a mixture of linseed oil starched distemper made of minerals. The wallpaper is UV resistant against sunlight and fading and washable without the use of synthetic binding agents. The result can be seen in the brilliance of this stunning wallpapers.
